Meg has a creative mind. It moves from one thought to another, but doesn’t always connect the dots. She sees things holistically, but may miss details along the way.
Her husband John shared a story in which a friend wanted to meet them at a restaurant close by, but when Meg incorrectly remembered the town as one much further away, they declined the invitation. They could now laugh at the story but for the longest time, John judged Meg’s poor grasp of details. When missing a detail, John used to say “Really?” and even Meg would harshly judge herself.
John was now getting that this is how Meg’s mind works. He has always respected her intelligence and ability to see the whole picture. Now he non-judgmentally fills in the gaps and details as needed, appreciating their differences.
